It has to be put together but it is a nice addition to the family room. I have had many complements on it. The electric fireplace is nice, it warms up the living room. It is great as an addition to the regular heat. It allows me to keep the living area warm and the rest of the house cooler which I like for the bedrooms to be cooler. The cons - Fireplace unit was damaged. The box it came in was in great shape. When we pulled the until out of the box it had a front facing dent big enough to be noticed, the back housing looked like it was being caved in, the corner was indented. It literally looked like someone kicked it across the factory floor and then boxed it. I dont blame the reseller or even UPS for this. That being said I reached out to the seller who gave me the info to contact the mfr of the unit. Even though it's Better Home and Gardens, the mfr was Sauder. 1 very brief phone call, an email with a few attached pics, they came thru with sending a replacement within 5 business days at no addl charge. So kudos to Sauder, and a big thanks to the seller who the whole time let me know they would do whatever it took to make it right.

The fire part of it looks really real. It is red and yellow flames.
